Planning

The Parish Council is a statutory consultee for the purposes of The Town and Country Planning Act 1990 which is the legislation governing all development in England and Wales.

This means that all applications for planning permission are scrutinised and commented on by the members of the council. We don't have the power to permit or refuse an application, those powers are vested in the Planning Authority (East Hants District Council and Hampshire County Council). Our role is to provide valuable local knowledge which helps in deciding whether applications comply with the requirements of planning law, the local plan and other planning guidance.

The EHDC Planning Online Database gives details of all applications within the parish as well as those within East Hampshire. This facility will allow you to view the most recent applications and appeals, and allow you to search the whole database. The site also offers application forms, plans, notices and documentation.

Local residents are requested to observe and report any breaches of planning conditions and statutory nuisances (noise, smells, etc) to the council in order that we may instigate enforcement action by the district or county. You may pass the details directly to the relevant authorities (see the contacts page) or by contacting the Parish Council Clerk.
